It is used as a custom made Impression tray to take the Secondary or Final Impression to get the perfect impression which cannot be possible with pre fabricated Impression trays. The Special Tray is made to the dimensions of the particular patient and hence gives the perfect impression. It is used to take an impression with ZEO paste, Alginate, Elastomeric or sometimes even Plaster in some cases. Kelin January 6, 2012 Hello Dr. I recently had an injury to my four front teeth. One of the teeth fell out (about a quarter was left) but the other 3 were also damaged from the impact. I have had a root canal done on the one that was missing and then two others. One of the teeth seems to be okay as of now. Two teeth went a darkish colour and the root canal treatment was performed. Originally the dentist had thought about making 4 crows across the 4 front teeth (provided the one tooth needed a root canal). The new suggestion is to bleach the darkened teeth and then put a fill and a brace at the back of the teeth to help stabilize them as they still have slight movement in them. My dentist bills are covered so money is not the issue, is this a good option or should I be getting all the teeth crowned instead? Is the movement in the teeth the reason he doesnt want to crown them yet? Somnath jana January 6, 2012 My one teeth is missing .I can join army .with 31 teeth. Sebastian Fox January 6, 2012 Hey Varun, I’m doing a research about child abusal and neglect in Germany – Can I use some of your pictures in an article i have to write for promoting my study? Best Regards, Sebastian Fox Jane January 6, 2012 Hi Dr. Varun, I have a whitish yellowish thing in my surgery site. It got extracted 48 hours ago because of the cavity. My wisdom tooth that got extracted was normal and easy to take out. I didn’t feel any pain at all since the surgery up to now. Ofcourse I am taking my pain medication. Dentist didn’t prescribe me any antibiotic. I am just worried that I might end up getting a dry socket because of its color and I don’t see any blod clot in the hole nor any bone inside neither. I’ve been rinsing listerine and salt and water as well. I don’t smoke. But after 2 hours of the surgery I rinsed my mouth with a warm water but I was being careful, I didn’t gargle it. I put water in my mouth to take out some blood in my tongue, didn’t spit it out and literally just let the water flow out of my mouth. But after that the blood was still coming out and I put another gauze pad for 30 minutes. Jane January 6, 2012 Hi Dr. Varun, I have a whitish yellowish thing in my surgery site. Dhare January 6, 2012 Dear I would ask about something related to local anaesthetic solution. What makes the solution become brown in colour instead of its original colour? Does this related to expiration date or something else in the composition leads to discolouration? I am looking forward to hearing from you. Many thanks. Varun January 6, 2012 Brownish discoloration is seen in Proparacaine if not refrigerated and the temperature increases. Varun January 6, 2012 It is common to appear white after 24 hours, nothing to worry about until you feel pain Varun January 6, 2012 It is normal for a traumatic extraction with long roots. Make sure you follow all the post extraction instructions without fail. Dhare January 6, 2012 Thank you Sujal Amatya January 6, 2012 Which is the smallest deciduous tooth? I had very back molar extracted 5 days ago. I have had minor pain and inflammation in the gums and like a small area of pain and swelling in my jaw underneath the extraction site. The extraction site is grayish yellowish looking and possibly a very tiny hole in the middle. Hard to tell. Ibuprofen usually takes care of the pain for the most part. I’m nervous that I may be getting dry socket or infection. I never had this with any other extractions iv’e had in the past. Cant see my dentist till Monday. Sneha Nair January 6, 2012 What is a High Frenal Attachment?? Dilakshan January 6, 2012 why is arrested caries black?! Varun January 6, 2012 Hi Dilakshan, it is a very important question which many tend to ignore – Arrested Caries is nothing but a Dental Caries Lesion is Remineralized and it appears to be in sync with normal tooth structure in terms of consistency. The Change in color to Black is due to the entrapment of organic debris and metallic ions within the Remineralized Enamel giving the Black color to it. Arrested caries is highly resistant to future Caries infections due to remineralization and can be left as it is. Vidhi January 6, 2012 Hello Dr. Varun M preparing for NEET 2019 and for this if you can help me with some previous year NEET and AIMS solved papers. Deepak January 6, 2012 Hi Dr.Varun, 3 weeks ago, I got a mild pain, lil swelling around and inner below gum of second molar tooth, I rinsed with a slat water about a week but it did not go away. and it was more worsen, pus started to come when I push a swellen part of gum but no fever and only mild pain and tooth bite feeling with upper tooth. After a couple days i went to dentist, She took x-ray and permormed deep cleaning of that tooth, everything went normal after the deep cleaning except right below second molar tooth get collide with upper tooth, and she Did not prescribe any medication. I was still feeling discomfort somwhow, after a week of deep cleaning of tooth, I felt again like before but not swellen gum and no fever but pus formation from the gum when i push with finger. I called to doc again and she prescribed penicillin 660 mg 3 times daily for 7 days in empty stomach. 24 hours of taking the first doses, I have not seen any difference of my symptoms, should I worry about it? Are root canal or tooth extraction final solution ? Pls help me doctor. Varun January 6, 2012 First thing – Never take an Antibiotic on an Empty stomach, always have some food and then take the Antibiotic. Secondly its just been 24 hours since you have taken the Antibiotic treatment, so you need to wait atleast 24-48 hour more for the effect to kick in. One the infection comes down, the effect of pain killers is also increased. Nisarg Trivedi January 6, 2012 Some cyst are lined by keratinised epithelium whereas some cyst such as radicular cyst and lateral periodontal cyst have non keratinised epithelium lining. My question is what difference do this keratinisation make in the cyst??Are they of any importance in epithelium lining?? Deepak January 6, 2012 Hi Dr. Varun, Is a big hole and jaw/tooth pain normal after 9 days? ) Got my second molar out 9 days ago, I have a large hole on the bottom right side and my extraction tooth around it are mild sore and swelling still. Will the hole close itself or am I going to need to get restitched? There is no puss or odor just uncomfortable mild pain. Is this normal??how long does it take to heal? I am gargleing with Chlorhexidine 2 times daily and i also use salt warm water two times daily. Pls help Varun January 6, 2012 The hole takes anywhere from 3 weeks to a month to close completely, there is nothing you need to do apart from maintaining good oral hygiene. This means to gargle after every meal as food particles tend to get stuck in the hole / Socket and this can be the cause of your mild discomfort. Deepak January 6, 2012 Thank you so much for your quick response. Best Regards, Deepak Elle January 6, 2012 Hi, My PCP prescribed me an antibiotic(Doxycycline) because i’m allergic to penicillin for a tooth infection. I took the first does Wednesday, but here it is Friday and I still have the pain. Is there something else she can prescribe me until I can get to the dentist in a few weeks? Varun January 6, 2012 Tetracyclines or Doxycycline is the drug of choice in patients with Pencillin allergy, it is effective but acts slowly and must show its effect after 3-5 doses. Amy Rossi January 6, 2012 HI Dr. Varun, I have looked everywhere I can think of and cannot find the difference between a fedi chisel and Oschenbein chisel. I need to know if you can visually tell them apart and if so, how. Can you please tell me if you know? I have looked in every perio instrument book I have. Thank you , Amy Stef January 6, 2012 Hi, I had my lower back tooth extracted on the right side last Wednesday. It has white stuff inside it but does not look swollen. Is this normal or is this dry socket? I am in a great deal of pain and I’m not sure why. I am not a smoker. Varun January 6, 2012 If you are suffering from pain even after a week of surgery, it is better to get it checked. It might be just secondary infection or might be Dry Socket which can be diagnosed on clinical examination only. L Baker January 6, 2012 Hi Varun I found your reply to a previous question a real comfort and would appreciate your help with a further problem.I Twice in the past few days I have experienced a sudden sharp toothache like pain in my bottom left jaw.It feels like exposed nerve pain but where the pain came from I am missing two teeth from that area. Please help. Kind regards Lin Mary Hood January 6, 2012 X-rays do not have the same wavelength as visible light. The wavelength of x-ray is much shorter. That is why they are penetrating and visible light is not. Visible light refracts and reflects instead. Kenny B January 6, 2012 I had first molar #30 removed 9 days ago. Not in severe pain just mild discomfort. The outer socket wall bone close to tooth #29 is exposed. I have a picture if that helps. Will the skin grow over the bone or will I have to have the bone removed and have it resutured. Varun January 6, 2012 Usually the bone if exposed can lead to severe pain, are you still on your pain medication ? « Older Comments Newer Comments » Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
